traditional sash windows s. XVIII

Sash windows are a very characteristic element in Canarian buildings. Its adoption is known in the 18th century and its use extends until the 19th century. Regarding its origin, there are two hypotheses, one due to Portuguese influence (very important until the 18th century) and another due to British influence.

Las ventanas de guillotina son un elemento muy característico en las edificaciones canarias. Se conoce su adopción en el siglo XVIII y su uso se extiende hasta el XIX. En cuanto a su origen existen dos hipótesis, una por la influencia portuguesa (muy importante hasta el siglo XVIII) y otra de influencia británica.
